It is definitely freeing when you don't have debt....Another keep point is to also reduce the amount of monthly cash flow tied up in regular monthly bills. I think if people really analyzed how much of their money is going toward this and that they will start to see excess, ie. reducing cable from $150 a month down to $60 for basic, or $120 cell phone bills down to $60 for basic plans, etc... I am now 65 years old and have not had any debt since the age of 25 and have been retired since age 49. Not all of my success was due to good planning however. Some was, but I was also lucky that I had a company pension that enabled me to take early retirement way back when. Gee, has it really been 16 years since I did a days work? Doing what you want when you want is the only way to live. I am not rich by any standard but Mrs. Hoss and I are sure comfortable and happy. Come on people join the move to a debt free society.
